Rear Guards cut and made wider. '56 F100 steel step side guards were widened and squared up to line up with the front guards and replace the rusted out section that bolts to the running boards.  If you look closely at this model the stock step side guards taper in from the front to the back and sit inwards of the front guards quite a bit.
   
There are two ways I could go, cut the guard right down the middle and weld a piece in or add a piece to the inside.  In this case I fabricated a new edge piece for the inside edge and welded it on.  It is alot of work, but alot less work than splitting the guard and having to reshape the curved and engled sections to meet up and get it to look right. I end up with a faint straight line but I retain a beautifully stock shaped step side guard that requires very little filler work before paint.
