In this instance I made the centre vertical bar for the bonnet on this Morris J Van and had it chromed. There are no aftermarket or reproduction pieces for this model. I made it from Mild steel and improved on the original piece by hiding the mounts with in, so it had to sit a bit fatter than a stock one but the out come was very sucessful.  Now before you get too excited there would be some limits to making various pieces of chrome or stainless steel trim, so it would be assed on a job by job basis, but I do get a kick out of a sucessfull piece like this.  As a rule the smaller or narrower the piece the harder it will be and producing an original thin clip on external window hardware is probably beyond my ability and tooling at this stage.
