Kustom Bitz was proud to be a minor sponsor of the 31st Victorian 48-215 FX, FJ Holden State Titles held in Victoria on the 31st of October 2008 at Greaves reserve in Dandenong. This was a special event for the Southern Early FX – FJ Holden Car Club of Vic because it was also the 60th anniversary of Holden in Australia and the event organisers had welcomed the offer from GMH Australia to display the GMH concept vehicle based on the first production Holden popularly known as the “Efijay” custom.

Efijy has done the rounds of many local and overseas major manufacturers’ motor shows and custom car hot rod shows. To view this car in the flesh is a real treat and you cannot help but stare in awe of the workmanship and thought that has gone into this factory built custom car.

Another feature of this event was the FX Holden that the late Peter Brock raced over in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which is a historic racing event for old cars.

The following variety of photos and images of FJ and FX holdens were taken at this event.  There is no real theory to what photos I took other than these are cars that grabbed my attention for one reason or another.

Black FJ Holden sedan above runs a Holden Red 6 cylinder EFI motor with twin throttle bodies. While below we have an example of one of the well restored FJs to an example of stylish mild custom running Hadibrand wheels.

Being a hot rodder myself this Street Rod version of a FJ Holden just screemed look at me. Independant hot rod suspension and a small block Chevy V8, sittin' just right and supurb colour and paint, I love it.

Now for those of us that grew up in the '70s [well maybe I never grew up .... just got older ... ha, ha  ] here are some Holden 186 Red motors fitted to the early 48-215 engine bay. First we have a tripple strommie carb red motor then below right we have a tripple SU carbed red, they were the days my friend ............

How cool is this mica red FJ sedan below with its supercharged Holden 202 EFI 6 cylinder engine, .......... stroked is nice but being blown is better. 

One of my favorites was this custom 48-215 Ute with a flip front and Holden Red motor, it has been around for a while and it still looks great.

Well there you have it what a great day, there was something there for everyone and the thing that struck me was the variety of cars from all walks and tastes. Thank you to the club organisers and all those that we spoke to and made us feel welcome, Ron.
