Garey Wright’s blue HR Holden
Garey’s HR Holden is powered by a 186 cubic inch 6 cylinder red motor and it is fitted with an early twin carb manifold and extractors. Garey’s HR is a neat streeter in fairly original condition, it still has some bumps and scratches to sort out but it is looking real cool already and worthy of a few photos I thought.
Here we have tried a couple of different combinations of our finned alloy AussieSpeed air cleaners on the twin Stromberg carbs.
We have the finned without any bolts and we have the finned with the H bolt.
The H bolt finned air cleaner tops look right at home in the engine bay of the HR Holden.
I love these old Holdens and Garey could see my passion for them and offered me a drive, of which there was no way I was letting that one pass. The engine is in good stock condition and with the twin strommie carbs, headers and a celica 5 speed box I will tell you it pulls real nice through gears on our cruise around the block. The lowered stance on this HR is just right and even with the body looking a little tatty it still turned heads when cruisin’ and that’s what it is all about, just get out and have some fun with ‘em no matter what condition they are in…………………………..cool times, Ron.
