Part# CSB-INT-KBButn - Small Block Chevy Inlet Manifold Bolt Kit. This bolt kit will not rust like a chrome bolt can. This Kustom Bitz button head bolt kit is from our standard KustomBitz range of polished stainless steel bolts. These are the bolts that have the Allen Key hex type slot in a shallow dome, wide flange head that looks as neat as a button on a shirt. This custom inlet manifold bolt kit will suit early small block Chev 307, 327, 350, 400 V8 pre-Vortec style engines. [The Vortec engines had the heads with the centre bolt style valve covers - these heads have vertical bolt configuration for the manifold which are different to the earlier small blocks] This bolt kit comes complete with 12 x manifold bolts, 2 x water neck bolts, 3 x bolts for the standard accessory holes, washers and spring washers, so you get everything you need to do a typical Chevy inlet manifold. Will suit most Chevrolet small block standard production cast iron manifolds, dual plane and single plane after market Aluminum manifolds.

Installation - with inlet manifolds on V8s we recommend that you install your polished stainless bolts after your engine has been started and you have run it up to full temperature. So use your standard engine bolts at first to hold the correct torque tension on the inlet manifold gaskets until they are stuck for good on the first few runs. Then install your stainless steel bolts one by one and torque them to half of the standard torque setting so you do not snap them off.  All Kustom Bits bolts we supply are an A4-70 grade stainless bolt which is slightly less in tensile strength than the standard grade 5 engine bolts for your inlet manifold.  We make this recommendation so that your intake manifold gaskets seal and settle properly to ensure you have no problems.  Those of you who run turbochargers or superchargers you should not run stainless bolts on an engine with high inlet manifold pressures and high tension loads on the blower snout from the belt and pulley drive, we recommend you use the ARP high tensile strength race engine black bolts only.
