Shown here is the Lakes Hot Rod Parts, Chevy engine mount fitted to an early Ford hot rod chassis. Heat Treated Stainless Steel and highly polished are these Chev small block Engine mounts. The bushed design of this mount is such that high horse power engines cannot tear it apart and it provides for fairly rigid mounting of the engine yet there is still enough give in the bush to limit engine vibration being transferred through to the chassis.
The shape and placement of the chassis bolt allows greater clearance for steering components so you can use a longer pitman arm when using a HQ steering box. This will reduce the lock to lock turns of the steering wheel and also allows the pitman arm to run horizontal.
These mounts will suit many applications and as you can see a simple stand off bracket can be constructed and attached to the chassis rail.

Space and clearance is usually pretty tight in a hot rod, the bulky and ugly OEM mount just does not measure up to the elegance and practicality of using the Lakes product in your hot rod or modified car.
